Rhythm of Joy: A Celebration of Movement, Joy, and Community!

Empowered By Movement was selected to decorate a tree at Austin Straubel Airport, sharing our mission of empowering seniors and those living with Parkinson’s disease. The tree will be on display in terminal B throughout the holiday season. Ornaments were hand-decorated by our amazing Empowered By Movement participants, capturing the magic of movement and the joy of the season.

The meaning behind the tree

  • Oval Mirrors: Reflecting personal responses to “Why is movement important to you?” these ornaments showcase how movement brings freedom, confidence, and joy.
  • Paint-Swirled Globes: Representing the silver lining of music and movement, these swirled ornaments embody the graceful transformation found in our programs for seniors and those with Parkinson’s.
  • Red Tulips: A symbol of strength and unity for those affected by Parkinson’s, these tulips honor the fight against the disease.
  • Disco Balls: Adding a touch of fun, these mirror balls evoke the joyful spirit of the disco era, bringing a sense of nostalgia and movement to our tree.

The winner will be selected at random from all eligible entries. The campaign is open to individuals worldwide, who are 18 years of age or older at the time of entry. All submissions must be posted by December 31st, 2024 at 11:59 PM. The winner will be notified by direct message on social media within 7 business days following the end of the contest period.
